Quantum Research Engineer position at VeriQloud

Quantum Research Engineer position at VeriQloud

VeriQloud is a company based in Paris and created in 2017. We work on quantum communication, with a full stack expertise, ranging from optical communications to applications of quantum cryptography. Our main focus is to engineer solutions to integrate quantum communication technologies in operational environment.

We are hiring a quantum research engineer to work with the Quantum Internet Alliance. This consortium led by QuTech at the Technical University of Delft is funded by the European Commission. Its goal is to develop the set of technologies for a quantum internet: a network of quantum ressources that communicate using quantum communication links.

In collaboration with Paris Sorbonne Université, TU Delft and SAP, VeriQloud is working on applications for the quantum internet. The recruited person will develop software codes for existing quantum communication protocols running on SimulaQron, a quantum network simulator developed by QuTech, and build a library of quantum communication protocols. This library will be used to experiment the integration of quantum cryptographic protocols in real architecture, design a core library of atomic quantum communication tasks to help the design of new quantum communication protocols, and estimate precisely the resources required.

The recruited person will work in close collaboration with other institutions working on applications of quantum networks, attend consortium meetings, and serve as an expert of software implementation of quantum communication protocols to other members of the consortium.

The ideal candidate has a degree in physics, maths or computer science, strong taste for programming, and some experience with quantum information. We are expecting the candidates to master some of the following skills:
— Python programming
— Classical and quantum Cryptography
— Quantum information
— Network programming
